House of the Dragon

A prequel to Game of Thrones, I was assigned to the series based on my deep knowledge of its world and fandom. The series presented a unique challenge: get fans on board with returning to Westeros (its own feat after the reception of GoT Season 8), while also allowing the show to stand on its own. The marketing campaign was incredibly successful, resulting in the largest premiere in HBO history.

The Official House of the Dragon Guide

Designed and created in collaboration with agency Known, the site offers fans the ability to click through family trees and character bios featuring exclusive prop and costume photography, distinguish between the many dragons in the series, and explore a map of Westeros and Essos featuring key locations.

Video Content

Working in close collaboration with HBO’s Marketing A/V team, I led the video track from for the Originals Marketing team, helping determine the creative beats we needed to hit, conceptualizing concepts, prepping for interviews, providing feedback on edits, and planning appropriate release timing and formats on our various platforms.

Inside the Episode

This Emmy-nominated behind-the-scenes series plays directly after each episode of the show and provides exclusive insights from cast and crew. The series extends fans’ experience of each episode of the show through a deeper understanding of its major narrative moments. Check out an example from Episode 8.

Made in collaboration with agency The Mill, my work on this fun “raise your own dragon” app largely revolves around reviewing all copy and abilities, while also seeing the dragon behaviors, Valyrian language, episodic tie-ins, and overall concept feel accurate to the series.

BRAND PARTNERSHIP

HOTDxDuolingo

HBO partnered with Duolingo to bring the language of the Targaryens to the fans. From “dracarys” to “sōvēs”, users were given the opportunity to learn High Valyrian language phrases, and win a “Valyerian Steel” sword.

The Official Podcast

Created by the combined efforts of the HBO Podcast team and I Heart Radio, this show is the go-to audio destination to unpack and discuss everything Game of Thrones for casual and die-hard fans alike, starting with the new series, House of the Dragon. My work involved guest lists, sitting in on and reviewing all sessions, ensuring accuracy to the series, as well as the larger strategic goals of the season’s campaign.
